CUE – CIMA common programme path
The Department of Financial Accounting of the Faculty of Finance and Law of the Cracow University of Economics, in cooperation with The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), is launching a subsequent edition of post-diploma studies: Management Accounting CUE-CIMA. Enrolment in the 5th edition of the prestigious studies commenced on 14 June 2019. Classes are scheduled to begin on 18 October 2019.
Target groups of students
Post-diploma studies Management Accounting CUE-CIMA are designed for the employees of various enterprises and financial institutions operating in a business environment. In particular, the educational offering is designed for managerial staff, management accounting professionals, financial analysts, employees of financial and accounting divisions, financial managers, controllers, employees of controlling departments, and all those interested in the use of broadly understood accounting in management.
Participants of the programme must be holders of BA or MA degrees.
Objectives and characteristics of the study programme
The post-diploma studies aim to provide knowledge and skills in the area of management accounting and financial accounting for the needs of supporting business management processes. Gaining modern knowledge enables students to better understand business financial processes and to acquire skills and competences focused on various forms of analytical work, the interpretation of financial and accounting data as well as managerial decision making processes.
The programme of the studies complies with CIMA Institute standards (The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) at the level of CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting.
The complete syllabus of CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting comprises five modules:
- • BA1 – Fundamentals of Business Economics.
- • BA2 – Fundamentals of Management Accounting.
- • BA3 – Fundamentals of Financial Accounting.
- • BA4 – Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law.
Pursuant to the agreement between the Cracow University of Economics and CIMA, the completion of post-diploma studies in Business Accounting grants an exemption from three examinations (BA1, BA3, BA4).
The participants of post-diploma studies at the Cracow University of Economics receive a Certificate in Business Accounting, issued by CIMA after passing internal examinations in Polish and only one external examination in English (BA2 – Fundamentals of Management Accounting), and after making payment of relevant fees in accordance with the official list of CIMA fees, and after meeting requirements set forth in separate study programme regulations.

Duration and number of hours
2 semesters, 200 hrs.
Requirements for completing the study programme
Passing 5 internal examinations in the following modules:
- • BA1 – Fundamentals of Business Economics – internal examination
- • BA2 – Fundamentals of Management Accounting – internal examination
- • BA3 – Fundamentals of Financial Accounting – internal examination
- • BA4 – Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law – internal examination
- • F06 – Fundamentals of Finance – internal examination
and passing the final examination along with the defence of the final dissertation – meeting the above requirements leads to obtaining a certificate of completing post-diploma studies.
To obtain a CIMA certificate, it is additionally required to pass an external examination in English in Management Accounting (BA2). Credits for the remaining examinations required by CIMA are obtained upon passing internal examinations at the CUE. The principles of implementing the CUE-CIMA path are set forth by an agreement between the CUE and CIMA.
Teaching staff
The lecturers of the Management Accounting CUE-CIMA programme are experienced faculty members of the Cracow University of Economics as well as practitioners having long time experience in training and consulting activities for the needs of business practice.

Time framework
The next edition of the study programme is scheduled for October 2018 (conditioned by a minimum of 20 students). If the number of applicants is below 20, a subsequent edition is planned for March 2019.
Classes will be held on Fridays from 16.30 to 20.30 and Saturdays from 9.00 to 16.45 (in exceptional situations on Sundays from 9.00 to 13.00).

- • application card, available on the University’s home page, when an applicant is recommended by a company or institution,
- • a copy of a diploma of completing higher education (original available for review),
- • two ID photos,
- • declaration on having been acquainted with CIMA regulations,
- • a statement on English language competences necessary for sitting an external examination,
- • a copy of ID (both sides),
- • confirmation of payment of the registration fee in the amount of 50 PLN,
Price for post-graduate studies
